The tour is to take place over February and March next year, and will make stops on some of the biggest cities in the UK, including London, Birmingham, Liverpool, Edinburgh and Cardiff.
The Courteeners rose to fame after their first album St. Jude was released in 2008. They followed up their debut releases with acclaimed performances at festivals including Glastonbury, V festival and T in the Park. Their second album Falcon and live EP Electric Lick were both released in 2010 and helped expend their fan base and secure the popularity of their music.
An interesting indie fact is that one of The Courteeners biggest fans comes in the form of The Smith’s Morrisey. He fell in love with the band and their music when he saw them performing in Camden, London. He liked them so much that in 2009 he even invited them to support him on his tour promoting his current album Years of Refusal.
The bands upcoming album Anna is scheduled for release on 4th February 2013. Their new single Lose Control was unveiled on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show yesterday, and will be available to download through iTunes and Spotify from today (11th December).
Tickets for the tour will be available from 9am on the 14th December at NME Tickets.
