Singer/songwriter Matthew Ryan is ready for the BIG time

At only 19, singer/songwriter Matthew Ryan has already had considerable success with his music and the songs he has written, and stands poised and ready on the brink of a life changing career.

Born in Santa Clarita in California, Matthew’s family moved to Wisconsin when he was 8 to be nearer family.  He has always found that music has come naturally and easily to him. At the age of 7 he started teaching himself to play the guitar by ear and watching himself in the mirror alone, and has since been crafting and honing his considerable talent to become the best he can be.

Influenced by some of the greats including John Mayer and Jason Mraz, Matthew’s heart truly lies in the acoustic guitar genre of music that he is influenced by. Using these great musicians as a jumping off point, Matthew writes timeless songs rooted in acoustic and piano driven R&B and soul.

Marry Me and Chasing You are two of his most popular songs and have attracted the attention of Grammy award winning producers such as Craig Bauer (whose star-studded resume includes producing artists such as Rihanna, Justin Timberlake and Kanye West) and Kevin Deane (who produced Michael Buble’s hit album Crazy Love).

Talking about Matthew’s music, Kevin Deane said “His song-writing is just astonishing. These songs are so beyond his age and like-able, the world needs to hear these songs.”

Although Deane helped produce a demo with Matthew, it is Craig Bauer of Chicago’s beautiful, state of the art Hinge Studios that is his true music mentor, helping guide the young musician to the heart of a business littered with acts that have tried but fallen short.

“Matthew Ryan is the kind of artist you can spend a career searching for and never find,” says Craig Bauer, “After agreeing to produce Chasing You together as a trial, it became clear quickly that our partnership was going to yield some very special material. Timeless, classic and stunning songs. We’re very anxious for the world to hear the rest of the work soon.”

Amazingly the main man has remained surprisingly grounded and philosophical about his successes, and even welcomes the producers to pick apart his music so he can learn from his mistakes. “I think you can never have too much criticism,” says Matthew, “It’s that criticism that gets me fired up and stop nothing short of my goals in music and life in general.”

You can listen to his music and keep up to date by visiting SoundCloud, his official YouTube channel or ‘liking’ his Facebook fan page.

With his brand new song Stay coming soon, who knows what the future has in store for Matthew. But one thing is for certain: he will undoubtedly make it BIG one day, and when he does, just remember – you (probably) read it here first!
