Over a month after The Bayonets originally released their bouncy debut single Sucker For Love, the band have finally released a music video that harps back to the days of old when the hair and clothes were funky and the cringeworthy dating game show was a TV staple!
Every bit as good as the track it accompanies, the Sucker For Love music video finds Oliver Leiber’s character as a contestant on a dating game show with the suave host being played by Brian Ray. And what kind of dating game show would be complete without a line-up of three beautiful women and an in-house band!
Directed by Brian French and Linda Cevallos-French, the video was designed to be irreverent and fun, uniquely capturing The Bayonets’ free and easy style while giving a not so subtle nod to an era defined by exciting music and exotic fashion. Playing two characters each, Brian and Oliver give us a reprieve from the 70’s madness, squeezing in cameos as their normal, out-of-character selves! But don’t worry, the fantastic game show guys and gals quickly make a reappearance for an extra coda of the song’s final chorus!
In addition to this video, a brand new Sucker For Love (Little Steven Edit) radio mix will be airing on the 24th March on Steven Van Zandt’s Underground Garage Radio Show on SiriusXM, and released on iTunes on the 25th. And if that wasn’t enough the classic original version of Sucker For Love will receive a wider radio release on the 26th. And to sweeten the deal even more, if you have already purchased one of the bundles for the original song from Brian Ray’s website you will receive the radio edit absolutely free.
Now sit back, relax and get your groove on to the Sucker For Love music video!
