The day before the first show of his brand new Out There tour, Paul McCartney and his band have had a dress rehearsal at Mineirão Stadium in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, treating the handful of fans already waiting outside the stadium to a handful of songs never before played live.
Touching down in Belo Horizonte on the afternoon of the May 3rd after several days in a sun-kissed Rio, Macca briefly stopped off at his hotel before heading out to the stadium to soundcheck ahead of the opening show.
Pausing briefly to have to fans from his car window, the fans took to social networking sits Facebook and Twitter to document their experience. The songs played at the rehearsal were:
Blue Suede Shoes
Got To Get You Into My Life
Sing The Changes
Let ‘Em In
We Can Work It Out
Eight Days A Week
Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite
Hope Of Deliverance
Listen To What The Man Said
Hi Hi Hi
All Together Now
Your Mother Should Know
Blue Suede Shoes has become a soundcheck staple, and Got To Get You Into My Life, Sing The Changes, Let ‘Em In, Calico Skies, and We Can Work It Out have all being performed regularly (or at least semi-regularly) over the years.
The real surprises come in the form of Beatles songs Eight Days A Week, Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite, Lovely Rita, All Together Now and Your Mother Should Know, solo songs Another Day and Hope Of Deliverance, and Wings rockers Listen To What The Man Said and Hi Hi Hi (the latter of which many thought he would never play live again due to it’s pro-drugs stance!)
The first concert of the Out There tour is tonight (May 4th), when fans will get to see which of these songs make it into the setlist and which fall at the final hurdle.
