Robbie Williams to release second swing album

12 years after Robbie Williams released his most successful album to date, Swing When You’re Winning, he has ventured back into the genre and announced the release of his followup swing album, the cheekily titled Swings Both Way.

With contributions from Olly Murs, Lily Allen, Rufus Wainwright, Michael Buble and Kelly Clarkson, Robbie covers classics including I Wan’na Be Like You (yes, the song from The Jungle Book), Minnie the Moocher and Dream a Little Dream, as well as showcasing a couple of his own compositions.

Robbie’s first venture into this genre was the album Swing When You’re Winning. Featuring duets with Nicole Kidman, John Lovitz, Rupert Everett, Jonathan Wilkes and the legend that is Frank Sinatra, Swing When You’re Winning has sold over 10,565,000 copies since its release in November 2001.

Swings Both Ways will be released in two versions: both standard and deluxe editions. The standard edition will contain 13 tracks while the deluxe edition will contain an extra three tracks plus four exclusive videos.

You can preorder both versions of the album and download the first single Shine My Shoes from iTunes (Shine My Shoes review here). Also be sure to keep up to date on all the latest Robbie Williams news over on his official website. You can see a promo video for the album at the end of this post.
