Former Beatles drummer Ringo Starr touches down at Guarulhos International Airport in Sao Paulo ahead of his 14-date tour, which will see the Yellow Submarine singer play shows across South America before rounding it off with 2 nights at the Palms Casino Hotel in Las Vegas.
Landing on Monday morning, the musician, his band and a small entourage were whisked through security and out of the airport, however Ringo still found time to give waiting fans and photographers a smile and flashing his trademark peace sign.
Kicking the tour off with two nights in Brazil, the tour also makes stops in Uruguay, Paraguay, Argentina, Peru and Mexico.
Fellow ex-Beatle Paul McCartney played no less than 24 concerts in South America over the course of 3-and-a-half years, with the famously frantic, loudest and energetic fans consistently selling out some of the continents largest stadiums in record breaking times.
While the venues may be somewhat smaller than those of his former bandmate, Ringo and his All Starr band can expect the same traditional crazily warm and rapturous welcome that South Americans are renouned for.
