Single review: Kendall K – Wear Em Out

Single review: Kendall K - Wear Em OutThe up-tempo debut single from Dance Moms’ star Kendall K (aka Kendall Vertes) is a very modern and dancey first offering with a militaristic edge that wouldn’t sound out of place sitting alongside any given Rihanna or Beyonce track.

Despite Kendall K’s young age, she leapt at the opportunity to explore the cruel and unforgiving world of music, but just as she has competently and capably handled her dancing career on Lifetimes hit reality TV show Dance Moms, she is confident in her musical offering.

Wear Em Out is first and foremost a modern sounding single. It sounds like something that would not only be blasting from a young teenagers bedroom, but would be blasting out in a nightclub…and as a bonus it would even get people on the dancefloor. Adult people! Not a small feat for a young girl!

While some may criticise the use of autotune and other similar pitch-correction tricks of the trade, the use of it only adds to the up to date modern feel of the track. Do other contemporary artists (Katy Perry, Rihanna, Beyonce etc etc etc) shy away from it? No. And they consistently release hit records. So who can blame Kendall for using artists of this ilk as role models?!

The long and short of it is that Wear Em Out is an enjoyable track that is already a massive hit with the legions of Dance Moms fans, and it would be remiss of lovers of contemporary, modern music not to at least give Kendall K’s single a try.

You can download the track on iTunes. You can also keep up to date with Kendall K by visiting her official website.
