Heartthrob boy band One Direction have had to change several dates on their 2013 tour of Australia and New Zealand due to ‘scheduling conflicts’, angering many fans down under.
The 10 rescheduled concerts in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne were originally planned for mid-September, however they were moved back a month to mid-October. The changes were announced on their official website, saying:
Due to a scheduling conflict, some shows on One Direction’s sold out Australian and New Zealand Tour will be rescheduled. Affected customers will be directly advised by Ticketek.
The announcement went on: For those patrons that are not able to attend the show on these new dates, customers have until 5pm on December 31st [2012] to request a refund. The great news for Australian One Direction Fans is that this rescheduled run now allows 2 more shows to go on sale – one in Brisbane and one in Melbourne.
However the decision to reschedule has angered many fans, as the concerts now conflict with major exams that take place in October. Fans took to social networking sites Twitter and Facebook to voice their anger. Messages posted included: “Hey One Direction, saying “we hate Australia” would hurt less” and “Honestly, One Direction management don’t pay enough attention to Australia. Aussie Directioners are so sweet, they deserve WAY more.”
But despite many fans being of the same opinion, venues are sure to be packed with thousands and thousands of paying Directioners baying to see The X Factor’s biggest export!
Fans from Australia and New Zealand may still be able to purchase tickets from Ticketek and One Directions official website.
